Some parts of Thuban, such as the bindings to shapelib and PROJ are covered by other GNU GPL compatible licenses.Thuban will contain a standard interface to access databases. We do not consider the combination of Thuban and a linked standard access library for a database to be one derived work. It is considered a loose combination, because you can use any database including Free Software databases to do the same job.
