[Freegis-list] php library or extension with simple mapping functionality

Hi,

We are looking for a php library or extension that offers some simple internet mapping functionality. While I found a couple of entries in the freegis.org site, it is obviously time consuming to evaluate all these. I would appreciate your advice about the choice of libraries or extensions.

The only functionality that we need is to plot vector data (both line and polygon data sets such as country borders, rivers and lakes) on top of a geo-referenced image that is produced by our php-scripts. The number of the vector data sets is relatively small while the image (representing raster data) is the online output from our server software.
