[Freegis-list] Map in german

Hello, 

	still about data availability I have noticed a site where some maps are sold : http://daerr.de/ (menu landakarten). Some of thme seem to come from 
former USSR. Unfortunately, it's in german, so i cannot manage to understand exactly what it is... If a german speaking could help me to understand what it is 
about ?... Where do they come form, what about copyright, and so on... ?
